Porn on the Internet? The numbers to prove it

It's not much of a mystery that porn is the biggest industry on the internet, but my recent Linux Journal gave some cold, hard (eh, eh ... wink wink... ) numbers:

This from the Linux Journal Index for September 2007:

Percentage of websites that are pornographic: 12
Porno. % of all search engine requests: 25
Porn percentage of all downloads: 35
Number of users viewing porn per second: 28,358
Dollars (US) spent on porn every second: 89
Number of new porn sites going up every day: 266
Estimated billions of porn web pages: 372
Position of sex among the most searched words: 1
US revenue from Internet porn in 2006: 2.84 Billion Dollars
Male percentage of Internet orn users: 72
Percentage of porn traffic during the 9-5 eight-hour workday: 70
Percentage or porn sites produced by the US: 89

There are other's but not as interestingly related to porn.
These numbers were sourced from 'Good Magazine'.

I wonder if the developers of the Internet, mainly the US government and universities, ever thought that they would create something that could deliver so much porn (372 billion webpages) to so many people (28K people/second).

So there you have it, porn does exist on the internet if you look hard enough for it...

Cheers.
