Down by the road-side bomb
I think this is fantastic!!!
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/08/29/military-bombs.html
The Canadian government has decided to purchase 16 specialized vehicles from the U.S. army for the purpose of finding, uncovering and neutralizing Road-side bombs in Afghanistan. Six Huskies, Five Buffalos and Five Cougars.
The Huskies will locate the bombs, the Buffalos will dig them up and the cougars will neutralize them.
Now, admittedly I'm no soldier, nor do I have any combat experience, but common sense dictates to me that tripling the size of your convoy might make you an easier target. They also now have three machines to do what in my mind should be the job of one. You know, not to mention the fact that while your Buffalo is digging up the bomb, someone is sticking a couple more to the bottom of your Husky and Cougar.
But what I like best about this, is that they are purchasing these machines, used, from the U.S. military, who up to this point have had an exemplary record of NOT being blown up by road-side bombs. Or as they call these devices that never harm them, IED's.

Terror!
Isn't it crazy how whenever anything happens in the States now, whether it be a boiler exploding or a bridge collapsing, the department of homeland security has to confirm it's not terrorism. If you ask me, I'd say the terrorists are winning.
